Shri Basavantappa Madiwalar aged 86 years hails from Hirehal village, Ron Taluk, District Gadag. He is a retired teacher and a great scholar in the field of Kannada literary world particularly in Vachana Sahitya.His command on both old Kannada and new Kannada is excellent. Even at this ripe age he has the love and passion for writing. The present book on Madival Machidev is a testimony to his innate talent and vast knowledge on the subject. He has beautifully compiled the historical facts about Madival Machiah with his painstaking effort. He has brought out the greatness of Machiah through this effort.He is an inspiration to the younger generation of pupils.
